Even people who were shocked, surprised and in complete disbelief of what happened Wednesday at the capital are failing to understand just how insane the events of the day were. For starters, it was so chaotic that politicians and news reporters hardly mentioned the absolute insanity that the Vice President of the United States had to be immediately escorted into a secure bunker by secret service because they feared that the MAGA rioters would try and murder him. That is right, they feared that the President’s most devout supporters would kill his own Vice President.
This article could be an hour long read just simply explaining all the horrific acts that these domestic terrorists caused. However, I want to shift the focus on what led to the first violent breaching of the Congress since The War of 1812.
The major issue this country faces, and something that must absolutely be addressed (and taught in our schools how to overcome) is the rapid and contagious spread of misinformation. There is a terrifying amount of people who cannot decipher between reality and ridiculously insane conspiracies.
Almost one third of registered Republicans believe in Q’Anon (the cult group who believe Democrats are devil worshiping pedophiles who eat children in the backrooms of neighborhood pizzerias.) If Republicans make up about 30 percent of this country, that means almost 10% of American citizens are batshit crazy and should immediately seek their nearest mental help facility.
Those that do not follow politics closely would see these numbers and laugh them off. After all ten percent is not that large of a number, but what these people fail to comprehend is that number is only growing, it is not diminishing. Some have the false belief that it requires most of the countries support to shift from a democratically held government to authoritarian. It simply does not, all it requires is for a charismatic competent “strong-man.” In Germany, the Nazi’s never gained over 35% support within its own country but still managed to overthrow their democracy and take 100% of the power. Luckily when authoritarianism came to America it came in the form of a clown in Donald Trump, next time though we might not be as fortunate.
Rational, critically thinking Americans should be absolutely horrified that so many of our fellow citizens will ignore some of the most monstrous crimes in pursuit of their sense of belonging in a cult of personality that is Donald Trump. Sure, he does not want to cause mass genocide or to conquer all of Europe, but what he does want is to be viewed as the best (with no dissenting opinion) while never being looked upon as a loser. To achieve his narcissistic goals, he was willing to burn down democracy as we know it and terrifyingly over 90% of his supporters were there cheering him on throughout the process.
What was obvious since 2016, should be as easily understood by any person today who is not neck deep in the cult Kool-Aid, and that is Donald Trump is clearly not mentally fit to be the President of the United States. Listen, we all know someone who is a staunch believer in any conspiracy theory they come across. You know, those who thinks that a random voiceover on YouTube or a random blogger is just as credible as thousands (if not millions) of people with an educational background and countless years of professional experience within their expertise.
Plain and simple, Donald Trump is a conman. That factual sentence should be apparent to absolutely everyone but sadly almost half the country will dispute such a simple truth. It gets beyond frustrating when someone believes that a billionaire, playboy, real estate mogul, reality TV star from New York is the only one telling the truth, and the ones purposely lying to the nation are the millions of pollsters, campaign officials, judiciary members, scientist, doctors, professors, all democratic legislators and almost 60% of republican legislators. Donald Trump is a pathological liar, and his supporters are either too brainwashed or do not care what his actions have led to.
If for some reason you cannot tell who is lying, all you must look at is this latest despicable act by Donald Trump and his media support system regarding election fraud in the 2020 Election. Looking back in history, anytime Donald Trump loses he claims his opponent was cheating and he did not lose but rather won.
In 2016, Donald Trump said after losing the Iowa Caucus to Ted Cruz in the Republican Primary, that Cruz rigged the election and cheated to win. In 2016 Trump lost the popular vote to Hillary Clinton by 2.8 million votes and claimed that it just so happened that 3 million illegal immigrants voted for Hillary. When asked to provide evidence for this claim Trump could not provide anything. Before the 2020 election Trump is quoted as saying, “If I lose it will only be because they cheated to win.” His voter fraud case was brought up in a court of law on 56 separate times and 55 of those cases he lost (the one win was about organizing ballots in one state and did not claim that any were fraudulently added or changed).
If voter fraud happened why does Trump always lose in a court of law (which were presided over Republican judges and some even appointed by Trump himself)? The answer is simple, it is illegal to lie in a court of law without being disbarred and a penalty of potential jail time. Which is why Trump and his allies do all their lying in the media and at his rallies because it is perfectly legal to do so.
With regards to influential figures, it is not just POTUS who is to blame for all the chaos and unnecessary suffering. The Republican legislators who publicly came out on Trump side did so not because they think he is right with the allegation of voter fraud. Of course not, they are not all insane. They did it because they are trying to garner Trump’s supporters once he eventually leaves politics.
Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley are knowingly lying to their supporters in a pathetic attempt to cordial their sensitive feelings which they can later exploit to further their political careers, whether that be a run in 2024 or to maintain the power they currently possess. With regards to TV personalities who supported Donald Trump’s ridiculous lies they do so for similar self-serving reasons. Being on Trump’s side means that his supporters will watch their channel, listen to their podcast, or radio station which in return generates an astonishing amount of ad revenue, which makes them far wealthier than they would have been if they simply stuck to their moral compass.
In closing, anyone who is shocked to see what happened at the capital on Wednesday simply has not been paying attention the last few months. To be perfectly clear, the President of the United States has purposely been riling up his most paranoid and easily manipulated followers to intimidate elected officials (whether legislators or judiciary figures) to overturn democracy. He is the most deranged, unhinged, narcissistic, sociopathical moron who has ever held the most powerful office in this country. He needs to be immediately removed, and what happened Wednesday needs to be a wake-up call to the educational departments across this land that something is seriously wrong in this country.
